OK, folks. Welcome to the new and improved virtual Shark Park for USC Beaufort's game against Savannah College of Art and Design in the first round of the Sun Conference tournament in Fort Myers, Fla.
I'm following along from the comfort of my living room and the friendly confines of the interwebs, so I won't be able to provide the same kind of insight found in the usual live blogs, but I figured this would be as good a time as any for us to try out a new software I hope to use for future live blogs.
We're still several hours away from the start of USC Beaufort's first game in the Sun Conference tournament, which is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers, Fla., but I wanted to give Sand Sharks fans the heads-up on how to follow the game online.
NOTE: See the comment below about the original list being updated to include four outfielders. Still no Sand Sharks, though.
The Sun Conference released its all-conference baseball team on the eve of the conference tournament, which gets under way Sunday in Fort Myers, Fla., and USC Beaufort was shut out of the honors. Six of the nine teams in the league were represented, but the Sand Sharks, who finished fourth in the regular-season standings, weren't among them.
Although sporting events across the country are being postponed because of the dreaded swine flu, the NAIA isn't afraid of no stinkin' swine flu. (OK, yeah, they are, but not afraid enough to start canceling conference tournaments or anything.)
The organization released a statement saying it "is closely monitoring the swine flu outbreak in the United States and throughout the world," but "there are no plans to suspend or cancel NAIA national championship events" as of now.
Game 2 of today's doubleheader between USC Beaufort and Savannah State will get under way in a couple of minutes. The Sand Sharks won the first two meetings this season, but the Tigers exacted some revenge in the opener today, pounding 16 hits (and stealing 12 bases, if you can believe it) in a 16-7 victory. They'll try to even the season series in the nightcap. Here are the lineups:

OK, we're in a rain delay, but we're allegedly going to start this game despite the big storm coming this way (and my pleas to go home and watch the Missouri game -- M-I-Z!). If (when?) they call the game, it will be resumed at 11 a.m. Sunday.
But for now, here are the lineups:
