Wet and chili

2/23/13 Jay Karr • Staff photo--A cool and rainy day was just the thing to stoke peoples' enthusiasm for hot chili at the Red Apron Chili Cookoff held to benefit Bluffton Self Help on Saturday. Chili chefs from as far away as Virginia and Florida converged on the parking lot of Tanger Outlet Center 2 to compete in the second annual cookoff. Here, Denise Frame looks on as Marsha Levin serves up some white bean chicken chili at Frame's "Wild About Chili" booth. Frame, of Bluffton, was entered in the competition's people's choice category. "We're on our second pot," said Levin, who theorized that the rain brought out shoppers who then stopped by to sample the chili.
