OCEARCH, a non-profit organization ocean research group, has posted an update to the whereabouts of Mary Lee, a great white shark that the group tagged in September near Cape Cod, Mass.
Mary Lee, the sixteen-foot, 3,456 pound great white was mapped heading south toward Bermuda.
Genie, another shark that was tagged near Cape Cod around the same time as Mary Lee, hasn't pinged OCEARCH's Global Shark Tracking system since September.
Each time a shark that the research group has tagged breaks the surface, a Global Positioning System attached to the dorsal fin marks the location.
That information is then made visible and mapped on the group's website for the public to track.
