The Metropolitan Planning Commission -- a board with members from the city of Beaufort, town of Port Royal and Beaufort County -- meets at 5:30 tonight at Beaufort City Hall, 1911 Boundary St.
One issue is on the agenda and although it is listed as a Port Royal project, it affects all three municipalities.
The city and town annex land from the county in order to grow. Officials agreed in the past on a lines where the town and city could grow to. The town has received a request to annex in the former Beaufort Glass property at 599 Robert Smalls Parkway, which is on the city's side of the line.
The commission will discuss amending the growth boundary to accommodate the request.
The City of Beaufort meets 5 p.m. Tuesday, also at City Hall, for a work session discussion about amendments to the second quarter budget, development of the Beaufort Downtown Marina and an update on the fire station project.
