Some elementary schools in the district will have new visitors today.
Deputies who are part of a new School Resource Officer program aimed at young kids will be dropping in.
The 16 deputies chosen to participate went through an intensive training Monday to prepare them for their new roles. Instead of being posted at a particular school, the new SROs will float around the district during their regular shifts.
