Some of the Christmas songs that I love feel more like part of my DNA than a taste I acquired over time.
I grew up listening to Bing Crosby and Burl Ives and that Kenny Rogers/Dolly Parton Christmas album that no one expect my immediate family seems to love or even remember.
Yet there are countless other Christmas songs that I became aware of only after the fact but still count as some of my favorite holiday jams.
Today's song, Elton John's "Step Into Christmas" is one of them.

Patrick Donohue is the proudest Indiana native you're likely to find. Seriously. No one is prouder to be from a state that so many people know relatively so little about than he is. Patrick is a native of Terre Haute and a graduate of the Ernie Pyle School of Journalism at Indiana University. Knowing this, you might think he’d be a huge John "Cougar" Mellencamp fan, a man considered by some to be the Hoosier State's poet laureate. But you'd be wrong. In a major way. |
