The town of Port Royal has released its council meeting agendas for August. All meetings are at Town Hall, 700 Paris Ave.,
The first meeting will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, with a public hearing followed by a work session to discuss items council will vote on during the Aug. 8 council meeting.
Public hearing will be to discuss annexation and zoning of 2.64 acres of land at 100 to 104 Savannah Highway and L.H. Nelson Drive. The council meeting will include votes on that annexation and zoning, allowing the town manager to convey land for sidewalks at the corner of 8th Street and London Avenue, the Metropolitan Planning Organization and a new animal control ordinance. The ordinance was spurred when a dog died in July after being bit by another dog.
