It's probably safe to assume everyone in this area knows by now the story of Chip Mullen, the Hilton Head High student with Down syndrome who has become a fixture on the Seahawks' football and wrestling teams.
We've documented Chip's story at length, and we wrote last season about his exploits on the wrestling mat and earlier this season about his first career touchdown, an emotional moment arranged by Berkeley coach Jeff Cruce.
Well, Chip wrapped up his high school football season last night, and Myrtle Beach coach Mickey Wilson made sure he went out with a bang. On the final play, Rivers gave a signal to the Hilton Head High sideline, and Chip rumbled to a 75-yard touchdown run, after which both teams joined him in the end zone to celebrate.
The special moment was named the night's top play by Myrtle Beach's WPDE News Channel 15. Enjoy the video - and grab a tissue.
