Hilton Head High will throw its ace in tonight’s elimination game as it hopes to keep its season alive, coach Chris Wells said.
Cameron Stoltz will get the start on the mound when the Seahawks host Darlington at 6:30 p.m. tonight in the loser’s bracket of the Class 3-A Lower State tournament. Stoltz is 6-1 this year with a 2.02 ERA. The junior right-hander has struck out 61 batters in 55 1/3 innings.

A new set of rankings was released today by SCMAT.com, and it bodes well for a pair of wrestlers seeking state titles at this weekend’s Class 3-A individual state championships at the Civic Center of Anderson.
Bluffton’s Manuel Lopez (160) and Hilton Head High’s Campbell Miller (130) are ranked at the top of their weight class. Both seniors, Lopez and Miller won Lower State titles at Bluffton last weekend. They will be looking to cap their distinguished careers with individual state championships Saturday. The tournament begins Friday evening.
Kim Halter was named the PTR Member of the Year for South Carolina today during the Professional Tennis Registry’s (PTR) annual International Tennis Symposium.
Halter, the head pro at Hilton Head Motorcoach Resort, received the award for dedication and diligence in promoting and supporting tennis and PTR, according to a release.
The Bluffton High School girls basketball team will host Darlington at 7 tonight in the first round of the Class 3-A playoffs. The game was originally scheduled for 6 p.m.
The Bobcats, who have a school-record 17 wins, shared the Region 7-AAA title with Hilton Head High, but lost the tiebreaker and will therefore take the league's second seed into tonight's playoff matchup. Darlington finished third in Region 6-AAA.
