The Jasper County School District Board of Trustees will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Jasper County Council Chambers, 358 Third Ave, Ridgeland. Agenda items include the superintendent’s goals for 2011-12 and district stadium improvements. Click here for the full agenda.

A revised plan to tackle St. Helena Elementary School’s weak spots — including math test scores — was presented to the Board of Education on Tuesday night.

The changes include hiring a math interventionist to work with students, assigning homework in reading and math to focus on specific grade-level expectations and encouraging all students to attend extra school days specifically designed to teach math.
