District revises St. Helena Elementary plan to include focus on math

A revised plan to tackle St. Helena Elementary School’s weak spots — including math test scores — was presented to the Board of Education on Tuesday night.

The changes include hiring a math interventionist to work with students, assigning homework in reading and math to focus on specific grade-level expectations and encouraging all students to attend extra school days specifically designed to teach math.
