Sen.Obama spent 4 million dollars to run one of the most
expensive political ads in tv history. Yes, he ran a one-half
hour prime time infomercial on networks across the country
on 10/29 including NBC, CBS, Fox, MSNBC, BET, Univision
and TVOne. This is not counting the millions he has spend on his campaign. I wonder why Obama and his crew didn't use that money as an example of "spreading the wealth" and donate it to the failing economy?

Extremely terrible news regarding Led Zeppelin and Creed, all at once

(Pictured above: Jimmy Page, who must be stopped.)

Q. What's worse than hearing that Led Zeppelin - currently the only band in the history of recorded music to not make a late-career, ill-advised, disappointing comeback - is planning on making a late-career, ill-advised, disappointing comeback?

A. That they're doing so with a singer who is very obviously not Robert Plant.

Q. OK, what's worse than that?

FootBlog: Bevy of big games on tap

I don't know about you, but I'm excited, more excited than I've ever been to cover a football game. I've covered state championship games (the last three SCISAA Class 2-A title games, in fact), college bowl games, and more high school rivalry games than you can shake a stick at, but I've never looked forward to a game more than tonight's matchup.

Don't know which one I'm talking about? That ought to tell you how perfectly the local high school schedule played out this season, with not one, but two, region titles on the line tonight in Beaufort County.

"Republicans John McCain and Sarah Palin summon antidemocratic images of a communist state to attack Democrat Barack Obama's tax plan and his comment about spreading the wealth around. But in her home state, Palin embraces Alaska's own version of doing just that."

"Much as Obama explains his tax hike on the rich as a way to help people who are struggling, Palin's statement talked about the energy costs burdening Alaskans:

Voters in some states are getting strange, misleading phone calls about early voting. Some of these calls are computerized and claim to be from Michelle Obama, and deceptively trick voters into thinking they can "vote by phone." Other calls are live and target Spanish speaking households

  • these households receive calls from someone claiming to be able to take the voter's vote "right now" over the phone.

"I resolved to compensate myself somewhat for the lonely week that had passed and saddled the old mule and struck out for Haig Point Lighthouse. The day was fine and I enjoyed the ride very much. Was kindly received by Lighthouse Keeper Mr. Comer and his wife. We sat and talked for some little time and was most pleasantly surprised by the entrance of a lovely young lady wearing sweet perfume, Miss Maggie the daughter of the old folks." ....John Michael Doyle, Bloody Point Lighthouse Keeper

Inside the gloppy, horrible world of giant pumpkin growers

  • No one needs a 2,000-pound pumpkin. No one. Such massive pumpkins are absurd and unnatural and freaky-looking, and good news only if you're part of the powerful international lobby Big Pie.
