The Thomas Heyward Academy booster club will be holding a spaghetti dinner Thursday evening during and before the Rebels’ softball and baseball games. The cost is $8 per plate.
Golfers are still needed for the final two days of Healing Heroes Golf Week, hosted by the Independence Fund in an effort to support severly injured veterans of the Iran and Afghanistan wars.
Clemson defensive coordinator Will Venables had some good things to say about former Beaufort High standout Justin Parker this week during the Tigers' spring practice.

Furman Bisher died Sunday. For those that don't know who he was, he wrote for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution for more than 50 years and he was one of the greatest to ever write a sports story.
I grew up near Atlanta and can remember reading Bisher when I was as young as 7 or 8. I read the sports section religiously. Before they combined, we got the Journal in the afternoons and the morning Journal-Constitution on the weekends.
