Eye on Beaufort

Beaufort City Council is voting on two motions Tuesday night that would mpve the Boundary Street renovation project forward.
During a 5 p.m. special meeting preceding the regular work session on Tuesday, council will vote on the official agreement for a $12.6 million federal grant and to follow Beaufort County's purchasing policy for the grant.
Beaufort has about $13.7 million in matching local funds and the grant money will go toward some of the initial work such as improving intersections and rights-of-way purchases.

Beaufort City Council meets today at 5 p.m. for a work session and 7 p.m. for a voting meeting at City Hall, 1911 Boundary St.
The work session agenda includes updates from the chairmen of the Redevelopment Commission and the Metropolitan Planning Commission and board member interviews. Discussion topics include:
