Take some time out of your last-minute Christmas shopping to stop by Remy's Saturday (Dec. 18). The Hilton Head haunt is having an oyster roast starting at 2 p.m. to benefit the Island Rec Center. If oysters aren't your thing, Remy's will have pulled pork, hamburgers and White Liquor (the Rolling Stones cover band, of course).

Hannah created some Double Chocolate Peppermint Bark for this month's Sugar Buzz. It's a balanced combination of peppermint white chocolate and rich dark chocolate with a candy cane treat on top. I can't imagine how the holidays could get much more tasty than that (and that includes fruit cake).
The weather has turned cold, but WiseGuys has an idea that might warm you up.
Submit your favorite soup recipe and the one they like the most will get featured on their menu. Plus, you'll get a nice little stocking stuffer in the form of a $50 gift card. Click here for details.

The last vestige of summer you've been holding onto is about to disappear - the Tiki Hut is closing for the season.

The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce's Taste of the Season is this Friday (Dec. 3) at the Marriott Resort and Spa.
The annual event is one of the largest gatherings of local chefs on the island, each offering up samples of his or her favorite dishes.
Hudson's will once again host their annual community Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 25. The free dinner has become a bit of a Hilton Head tradition over the past 11 years. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come enjoy a plate of turkey and the trimmings.
The Hilton Head Oyster Festival is the next big fest in what's been a busy oyster season. The Island Rec-produced event lasts two days - Saturday and Sunday - at Shelter Cove Community Park. As it turns out, I'm actually considering going both days (not sure if oyster overdose is a real thing).
If you're not that into oysters, plenty is going on over the next few weeks. Log in and let me know if there's anything else cool happening.
One of the swankiest culinary festivals in the Lowcountry is just around the corner. Music to Your Mouth at Palmetto Bluff brings together some of the best chefs in the South Nov. 15-20. The centerpiece of the week is the Culinary Festival Nov. 20, where some of the chefs offer up samples and cooking demos. Pictured above is former Top Chef contestant Kevin Gillespie, who's returning this year.
