News Bites: Charity oyster roast at Remy's Saturday
Take some time out of your last-minute Christmas shopping to stop by Remy's Saturday (Dec. 18). The Hilton Head haunt is having an oyster roast starting at 2 p.m. to benefit the Island Rec Center. If oysters aren't your thing, Remy's will have pulled pork, hamburgers and White Liquor (the Rolling Stones cover band, of course).

Leave Santa some Double Chocolate Peppermint Bark this Christmas

Hannah created some Double Chocolate Peppermint Bark for this month's Sugar Buzz. It's a balanced combination of peppermint white chocolate and rich dark chocolate with a candy cane treat on top. I can't imagine how the holidays could get much more tasty than that (and that includes fruit cake).

Get the menu for Taste of the Season

The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce's Taste of the Season is this Friday (Dec. 3) at the Marriott Resort and Spa.
The annual event is one of the largest gatherings of local chefs on the island, each offering up samples of his or her favorite dishes.

News Bites: A month of oyster roasts continues
The Hilton Head Oyster Festival is the next big fest in what's been a busy oyster season. The Island Rec-produced event lasts two days - Saturday and Sunday - at Shelter Cove Community Park. As it turns out, I'm actually considering going both days (not sure if oyster overdose is a real thing).
