The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce's Taste of the Season came with a sweet twist this year, the Best Holiday Cake competition. Six local bakers whipped up their best themed cakes. Attendees of the annual culinary showcase voted on the best. And the winner is (drum roll, please) ...

We've got plenty going on this weekend, from oyster roasts to free wine to the annual Taste of the Season tonight. So, relax and feel lucky to live in the Lowcountry. That said, stay away from any black cats or ladders - at least for today, just to be safe.

Golf and fine dining might not be the first two things you associate with each other, but that doesn't mean the two don't go together. As it so happens, golf course clubhouses can feature some pretty good chefs in their own right. That's what the editors of Golf a la Carte had in mind when they put their series of cookbooks together.

The 20th annual Taste of the Season is around the corner, featuring more than 30 of the area's best chefs preparing some of their favorite dishes to sample. The fun part is that you, the culinary inclined of the county, get to vote to determine who's got the best dish. Read on for a preview of who's bringing what.

The oyster roast season has arrived. Capt. Woody's of Hilton Head hosts its first of five monthly roasts this Saturday at Palmetto Bay Marina.

If you can't make this one, don't fret. Capt. Woody's holds a roast the first Saturday of each month through March.
