UPDATE: More details in today's story.
It appears the Remy's as we've known it is about to close down. The Hilton Head bar and restaurant has been around for nearly 30 years in various spots, but its current location off Arrow Road is only going to be used for special events, according to its Facebook page.
"Remy’s daily food & beverage operation will cease at the end of February 2013. The venue will then be available for special events, formals and private parties. The 5,600 sq ft venue located in Arrow Center at 130 Arrow Road has occupancy for 280 people and features a large stage, 850 sq ft dance floor, bar, dining area and private room."
However, the owners will be venturing out into the F&B business again. Look for Roy's Place Cafe & Catering to open in Park Plaza next month.
"The Prescotts will be opening Roy's Place Cafe & Catering at 33C Park Plaza in the old Flamingo Donut Shop (UPS building adjacent to Park Plaza Cinemas). Roy’s Place will offer lunch the end of February and expand the hours to include dinner in mid March. Lunch will feature Remy’s “Blue Plate” meat and three lunches as well as fresh seafood, beef, pasta, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, salads and some daily specials with an additional flair. Dinner will focus on Carolina Low Country seafood dishes with a dash of Calabash as well as some lunch time favorites. Lunch and dinner will be offered at affordable pricing with restaurant or patio seating and takeout available."
Details to come. In the meantime, Remy's Final Bash will be held Feb. 22.
