Patrick Donohue is the proudest Indiana native you're likely to find. Seriously. No one is prouder to be from a state that so many people know relatively so little about than he is. Patrick is a native of Terre Haute and a graduate of the Ernie Pyle School of Journalism at Indiana University. Knowing this, you might think he’d be a huge John "Cougar" Mellencamp fan, a man considered by some to be the Hoosier State's poet laureate. But you'd be wrong. In a major way. | Some great Christmas songs have somehow managed to slip through the cracks.
These songs don't get the play that "White Christmas" or "The Christmas Song" or even a song like "Last Christmas" gets but they are no less meaningful or significant.
I had forgotten about today's song, "Marshmallow World" until last year when I heard it, in all places, at Disney World in Magic Kingdom's "Once Upon a Christmasttime" parade.
I was hooked.
This renaissance coincided with the release of Emmy the Great & Tim Wheeler's terrific Christmas album, "This is Christmas."
It's a great song. Don't forget about it.
