The Bluffton Township Fire District will present a check to benefit a 7-year-old leukemia patient at noon Wednesday at Station 35 on U.S. 278.
The money was raised during the fire district’s annual Boston Butts Fundraiser. This year the money will offset expenses for the family of 7-year-old Leo Vannoni, diagnosed with leukemia this summer and currently being treated at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Leo’s mother, Kelly, is a teacher at H.E. McCracken Middle School and has had to take off from work to care for him.
Because mother and son won’t be there, the check will be presented to Leo’s aunt and Lili Coleman of Bluffon Self Help.
Details: Bluffton Township Fire District at 843-422-0959.
