It's the first of December and even the holiday holdouts have to agree that Christmastime is officially here.
It may be 70 degrees out today but that shouldn't stop anyone from getting into the holiday spirit and enjoying some shopping, Christmas music and throwing on that worn out "Christmas Vacation" DVD.
As a kid, one of the albums I started listening to immediately after Thanksgiving is Burl Ives' classic "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" and I still love it to this day. To this day I am still able to name every song on the album just based on the opening chords.
In honor of the arrival of December, today's song is the title track off Ives' classic Christmas album, "A Holly Jolly Christmas."

Patrick Donohue is the proudest Indiana native you're likely to find. Seriously. No one is prouder to be from a state that so many people know relatively so little about than he is. Patrick is a native of Terre Haute and a graduate of the Ernie Pyle School of Journalism at Indiana University. Knowing this, you might think he’d be a huge John "Cougar" Mellencamp fan, a man considered by some to be the Hoosier State's poet laureate. But you'd be wrong. In a major way. |
