Beaufort Police are searching for a suspect who on Monday robbed an office clerk at the Wilderness Cove Apartment Complex in Beaufort. The suspect, a black male in his late twenties, asked for an application from the desk attendant around 4 p.m. The suspect left, then came back 20 minutes later with a semi automatic pistol, according to news release from the Beaufort Police. He stole jewelry and an undisclosed amount of money from the attendant and left on foot. Port Royal Police and the Beaufort County Sheriff's deputies assisted Beaufort Police with a search around the area, but could not find the suspect. Those with information are asked to call 524-2777 the investigator assigned to the case is Investigator Gutterson who can be reached at 322-7969.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
