Candidates wishing to run for one of four seats on the Hilton Head Public Service District Commission in the Nov. 6 general election must file by noon on Aug. 15.
Voters will elect candidates to two seats in PSD voting district 4 and one seat each in voting districts 3 and 2. Candidates are elected to four-year terms and must live within the district for which they are running. The election is nonpartisan.
Voting district 4 includes the Hilton Head Plantation area. District 3 includes the Port Royal Plantation and Palmetto Hall areas, and district 2 includes the Indigo Run and Spanish Wells areas.
The commission serves as the policy-making body for Hilton Head PSD, one of three public drinking water, wastewater treatment and reclaimed water utilities on the island, serving more than 18,000 customers in the north- and mid-island areas of Hilton Head Island.
Candidates can pick up their candidacy form at the PSD Customer Service Center at 21 Oak Park Drive, off Mathews Drive, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
