Former Beaufort Commerce Park developer to aid broadband effort

Heather Jones, a developer of the Beaufort Commerce Park, is among three community technology advisers recently named to Connect South Carolina, an initiative to improve broadband service.

Jones, who served five years as the Allendale County administrator, also helped develop Bluffton Technology Park as executive director of the Greater Beaufort-Hilton Head Economic Partnership.

The Clemson graduate will join Lindsay Conrad and Sheila Dugan in coordinating and managing the activities of the Connect South Carolina community technology planning teams.

The teams’ primary purpose is increasing awareness of broadband issues in the community and launching digital literacy initiatives in regions throughout the state.

Connect South Carolina is a state-dedicated public-private partnership committed to increasing high-speed Internet access, adoption and use.
