Three area teams are geared up for the first round of the Class 3-A lacrosse playoffs, which are set to begin tomorrow night.
The Hilton Head High boys are the only team that will host in the postseason lidlifter, as the Seahawks will take on visiting A.C. Flora tomorrow at 6 p.m.
Joe Monmonier’s team, which is led by senior Nick Bautista and sophomore Nate Jones, carries a 8-4 record into the tournament. A.C. Flora was scheduled to play the Seahawks back on Feb. 24 but the game was cancelled due to rain.
“I think they have the capability to win,” Monmonier said. “Any given day, especially this year, it seems like a lot of the teams are really even.”
The Seahawk girls, meanwhile, will travel to Blythewood tomorrow at 7 p.m. while the Bluffton High girls will head to Bishop England at 5 p.m. The Bobcats (7-6) — who are led by Dani Tosky — are coming off consecutive defeats, including a 14-12 decision to the rival Seahawks.
