Stand-up paddling the Eastern seaboard is something Mike Simpson had been thinking about for over a year with friend Will Rich. "We didn't want to just do it for selfish reasons," Simpson said. Simpson and Rich started their journey in Key West, Fla., on March 1 and will finish in Portland, Maine with a goal to raise awareness and money for the Wounded Warrior Project, a national nonprofit organization that aids injured military personnel, and Stand Up for a Clean Ocean, an organization based in North Carolina dedicated to removing trash and debris from beaches.
