News Bites: Maybe Friday the 13th isn't so unlucky after all
We've got plenty going on this weekend, from oyster roasts to free wine to the annual Taste of the Season tonight. So, relax and feel lucky to live in the Lowcountry. That said, stay away from any black cats or ladders - at least for today, just to be safe.

- Taste of the Season Nov. 13 at Sea Pines Country Club. Dishes cooked up by 30 of the area's best chefs, including Food Network star Robert Irvine.
- Jazz pianist and radio host Judy Carmichael at The Jazz Corner Nov. 13.
- Everything But The Turkey cooking demo at Michael Anthony's Nov. 14.
- Hilton Head Oyster Festival Nov. 14 and 15 at Shelter Cove Community Park.
- Authors of Golf a la Carte host a cookbook signing from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at Indigo Run.
- Win a Vespa at Pino Gelato!
- 13th annual Bartender Challenge Mondays at The Lodge starting Nov. 16.
- Food Network's Tyler Florence and others coming to Palmetto Bluff for annual Lowcountry Celebration Nov. 18 to 22.
- Holiday Cookies, Candles and Confections cooking class at Michael Anthony's Nov. 19.
- Grand tasting at Wine Times 4 for one-year anniversary Nov. 20. All proceeds go to MS National Research Institute.
- Plums will host a Gundlach Bundschu Autumn Wine Dinner Nov. 21. Features a four-course menu prepared by Chef Will Mclenagan and wine pairings presented by Gundlach Bundschu president Jeff Bundschu. Cost: $60 per person. RSVP: 843-986-5092 or plums@hargray.com.
- Third annual Cajun Festival 4 p.m. Nov. 21 at The Salty Dog Cafe in South Beach Marina Village.
