News Bites: Get into the Thanksgiving spirit
We're a week into November, so that means it's time to get into the holiday spirit whether you like it or not. Christmas music isn't populating the airwaves quite yet, but Thanksgiving spirit is in the air.
Before you start deep-frying your own bird or whatever, a few local chefs are hosting Thanksgiving cooking classes. Read on for details.
There's plenty going on in the coming weeks, as oyster roast season is just kicking off, as well. As usual, log in and let me know if there's anything else cool going on in the Lowcountry.
- Thanksgiving Start to Finish with the Food Network's Robert Irvine Nov. 7.
- Oyster Roast to benefit the Bluffton Boys and Girls Club 3 to 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Bluffton Club, 100 H.E. McCracken Circle.
- HHI's Capt. Woody's first fall oyster roast Nov. 7.
- WiseGuys and Christine's Cafe team up for a Thanksgiving cooking class 11:30 a.m. Nov. 12.
- Taste of the Season Nov. 13 at Sea Pines Country Club. Dishes cooked up by 30 of the area's best chefs, including Food Network star Robert Irvine.
- Hilton Head Oyster Festival Nov. 14 and 15 at Shelter Cove Community Park.
- Authors of Golf a la Carte host a cookbook signing from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at Indigo Run.
- 13th annual Bartender Challenge Mondays at The Lodge starting Nov. 16.
- Food Network's Tyler Florence and others coming to Palmetto Bluff for annual Lowcountry Celebration Nov. 18 to 22.
- Grand tasting at Wine Times 4 for one-year anniversary Nov. 20. All proceeds go to MS National Research Institute.
