 Hudson’s Thanksgiving dinner begins at 11 a.m.
The 11th annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held at Hudson’s seafood restaurant at 11 a.m. Thursday on Hilton Head Island. The free dinner will have turkey, dressing and all the trimmings. Transportation can be arranged. This event is organized by St. Andrew By-the-Sea United Methodist Church and Hudson’s, and all donations on the day of the event will benefit The Deep Well Project.

Praise Band festival comes to Wexford
The inaugural “Make a Joyous Noise” praise band festival will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Village at Wexford. The event will feature praise bands from area churches on two stages, including groups from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, First Baptist, Central Church, the Harbour, The Church of the Cross, the Refuge and Hilton Head Presbyterian.

Kerry Pollock: comedy and magic
Comedian and magician Kerry Pollock concludes his two-week run at the Hilton Head Comedy Club in Pineland Station this weekend. Pollock will blend his stand-up skills with unique illusions and even a bit of audience mind-reading for this portion of his extended engagement.
Pollock performs at 8 p.m. tonight, 8 and 10 p.m. Saturday and closes with an 8 p.m. performance on Sunday. Advance reservations are recommended.

St. Peter’s hosts walking tour today
St. Peter’s Catholic Church’s eighth annual Homes for the Holidays walking tour of homes will be held at Tuxedo Park on Lady’s Island with the gala at St. Peter’s Walsh Palmetto Room at 7 p.m. today. Gala tickets are $75. Tickets for the tour cost $25 a person for a tour of five homes from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Proceeds benefit St. Peter’s Catholic School Endowment Fund. Parking and shuttle will be at Coosaw Point.

Plums hosting special wine dinner
Plums Restaurant in Beaufort will host a Gundlach Bundschu Autumn Wine Dinner at 7 p.m. Saturday. Gundlach Bundschu is a 150-year-old vineyard in Sonoma, Calif., known for its premium wines. The event will feature a four-course menu prepared by Plums’ executive chef Will Mclenagan and wine pairings presented by Gundlach Bundschu president Jeff Bundschu. HHSO hosting holiday Web auction
The 2009 Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Holiday Web Auction will open for bidding today and close Tuesday; an online preview begins Monday. The auction serves as the orchestra’s annual fundraiser. Categories for the auction include restaurant certificates, accommodations (local and out of town), event tickets, golf packages, jewelry, household services, health and beauty, spa treatments, unique trips, golf and tennis lessons with a pro, box seats to exclusive sporting events, catered dinners, music lessons and musical performances for special events.

BHS presenting ‘Angry Women’
The Bobcat Players of Bluffton High School Performing Arts Department will present “Twelve Angry Women,” at 6:30 p.m. today. Adult tickets are $5. Student tickets are $2. Golf tournament benefits Junior Jazz
The Jazz Corner will host its fifth annual charity golf tournament Saturday at Palmetto Hall Plantation’s Robert Cupp Course. The tournament benefits the Junior Jazz Foundation, a nonprofit organization that aims to broaden the awareness of the original American art form of jazz within local schools. Registrations begins at 9 a.m., with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. A foursome costs $300. An awards ceremony and performance by the Hilton Head High School Jazz Band will follow at The Jazz Corner.

ARTWorks marks first birthday
ARTworks will celebrate its first anniversary with a birthday party from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Nov. 27 in Beaufort Town Center.
The event features hands-on creative activities, the ARTworks T-shirt design competition, live music and food. Carl T. Smith, author of “Lowcountry Boil” and “Louisiana Burn,” will also preview his new work. A $5 or Toys-for-Tots donation is required at the door.

Printmaking class for kids in Beaufort
The Arts Council of Beaufort County is offering an Art for Kids class in printmaking with C.J. Norwood for children ages 6 to 8.

Dove Street lights turn on Dec. 1
The Dove Street Festival of Lights, an annual event, benefiting The Deep Well Project will be held Dec. 1 through Jan. 1 in the Dove Street area of North Forest Beach on Hilton Head Island. The public is invited to walk, drive or take a trolley through the light display of more than 50 beachside homes.
