Want to learn about the May River?

May River documentary premieres Friday
Longtime Bluffton resident Greg Smith is unveiling a 23-minute multimedia presentation at 7 p.m. Friday at ARTworks in Beaufort Town Center.
“Keeping the May River Wild” features hundreds of still images, audio from the river and interviews with people working to save the waterway.
Smith began the project when he enrolled in a master's degree program at Ohio University in 1983. Fatherhood interrupted his efforts, which he resumed in 2007. He graduates in June with a master of arts in visual communication. Smith is a former managing editor of The Beaufort Gazette and founding editor of Hilton Head Monthly.
Cost to attend is $5.
