Evacuation stress: Working on today's column - "Hanna stressing you out? You're not alone" - while also making reservations for my wife and pets at a POINT SOUTH motel (is that dumb?), it occurred to me to ask for some real evacuation advice.
Horror stories, anyone, about motels, routes or whole towns to avoid?
Happy stories about motels or whole towns that you recomment?
What do you r-e-a-l-l-y need to take? How much cash? Cheez Whiz?
Do you leave early or late?

David,
You often make us laugh, but today, in the midst of all of the stress of (our two work places) and what to do, your article was especially funny. We needed that laugh. Thanks.
21st Century Tracking Map: This Stormpulse.com site has a cool map, with lots of other info, that makes the NOAA maps look like something from the Flintstones.
Insider Insight: I like this blog: Dr. Jeff Masters' WunderBlog. Jeff co-founded the Weather Underground in 1995 while working on his Ph.D. at Michigan. He flew with the NOAA Hurricane Hunters from 1986-1990.
BOTH of these sources now show the eye of Hanna missing us by a good bit. (!!)
